30 Days of Character Development
Volume One

Day One: Describe your character’s relationship with their mother or their father, or both. Was it good? Bad? Were they spoiled rotten, ignored? Do they still get along now, or no?

Kumatora Kuma has seven daddies! I think she was happily adopted; the Magypsies absolutely loved having a child and doted on her immensely. Locria/Fassad was in the picture for the first few years, but took off before she was very old (not because of her, though: whatever caused the split had been going on for decades). She remembers him/her, but not very clearly and besides, she had six other dadmoms so she wasn't really in short supply of parents. She was closest to Ionia by virtue of living with him/her the most and in Smash, she still is.

Although the Magypsies were definitely loving parents, they weren't very strict with Kumatora in the least. She was definitely spoiled, but instead of being a pampered princess, she sort of grew up unchecked, leading to a lot of her bad habits and less than stellar manners. Especially at first, the Magypsies had a serious case of What Do when it came to raising her, because for all of their immortal wisdom, they never had any experience with raising children until she came along. They first realized she had the ability to use PSI when one of them accidentally left her unsupervised in the bath.

Nowadays, Kumatora's relationship with 6/7s of the Magypsies is still very good, albeit strained from recent Time Eater events (WHICH I AM WRITING A SOLO LOG ABOUT OBOY). Outwardly they all appear to be BFFs, and privately she goes to them all the time for advice and to vent. In the cast of the latter, there is usually copious amounts of ice cream and alcohol involved.

Flint His actual lineage is a mystery due to White Ship shenanigans. In Tazmily, Flint had a loving set of parents: his mom was a caring housewife and his dad was a reliable sheep farmer (WAIT THIS SOUNDS FAMILIAR). They both lived to see the twins born, but I'm going to say they both passed away before the events of Mother 3. Flint loved his 'rents very much and they were the standard he tried to live up to, which served to compound his angst when everything went sour. He couldn't protect his wife and became unable to be a father for his sons, god what a failure he was, he couldn't be more like his own father. His father never had to deal with robot dinosaurs, but that's beside the point.

Flurrie We don't ever see any other wind spirits ever, and I'd say it's because they keep to themselves in some faraway land. Considering that keeping to herself is something she is incapable of doing, Flurrie's family is really not a big part of her life. She somehow got the idea in her head that she wanted to see the world when she was young, and her parents probably did not approve because of their society's tendency for isolation. She left to seek her fortune at a young age, leaving her parents and her home behind, and hasn't ever been back. She didn't leave on particularly bad terms, but her relationship with her parents is lukewarm at best and nonexistent at worst. They just don't factor into her life anymore. :T

Skull Kid Skull Kid literally has no parents, as he actually did poof into existence one day thanks to ~forest magic~. Even so, he lived around other kids who DID have parents, leading him to believe there was something wrong with him for not having any. His only real experience with adult guardians comes from teachers and old orphanage ladies, so clearly they're not very good ones. The Giants don't really count, as he thought of them as friends rather than parents- he was very young when he met them, so he didn't really have any concept of "parents" then.

Garrett WHAT PARENTS. His mom was a bar wench and his dad was some traveling merchant passing through the City and stopped by one night. STUFF HAPPENED, as stuff is wont to do, and Dad left the next day and never returned. Mom, already poverty stricken and barely able to keep herself alive, dumped the kid on the front steps of an orphanage right after he was born and washed her hands of it. The orphanage was not exactly a pleasant place because Stoop Babies happened like every other day, so it was crowded and miserable and Garrett ran away pretty much the instant he was old enough to run.

The closest thing Garrett ever had to having a father figure was Artemus, by virtue of being the one who found him and took him in. Life with the Keepers was probably better than living in an orphanage or on the streets, but not by much, and Garrett was not the only kid they plucked off the street, either. His upbringing was most likely very strict and spartan, which he never really took to, and Artemus, who acted as his mentor, recognized this and let him get away with more than he should have. They weren't SUPER CLOSE or anything, but it did lead to Garrett having a tiny amount of respect for him. Garrett didn't seem too torn up when it was revealed that Gamall killed Artemus, but then again, right after the reveal she kind of tried to kill him too, so he didn't really get a chance to dwell on it much. Sometimes, he wonders if Artemus was only manipulating him into trusting him, in order to further the Keepers' goals, since they knew he wouldn't cooperate with anyone else. He really, really doesn't like that thought.

Day Two: What are your characters most prominent physical features?

Kumatora PINK HAIR LOL. I'm leaning to thinking that the Magypsies actually magic'd it to be pink, in order to keep up the illusion that she is special/their daughter/also a Magypsy/etc. This was when she was an infant, so she's had pink hair almost her entire life, but it was originally a reddish color anyway. She keeps it cut short but has a chronic case of Bed Head that makes it stick out in every direction, which makes it even more distracting.

Flint He is giant. He's well over 6 feet tall (I used to have a specific height but I forget), plus working outdoors has made him really muscular. His hat is practically part of his face, since it tends to hide his eyes, and along with his sideburns/beard he can look kinda intimidating. He's really not, though!

Flurrie SHE'S A CLOUD. A BIG PURPLE CLOUD. She doesn't turn human much anymore, but when she does, she still has bright purple hair which stands out even more because her skin is pretty dark. In either form, she is rubenesque. She's got HUGE tracks of land. And lips. Dem lips. Flurrie is just prominent, period.

Skull Kid How about the fact that he's very clearly not human/Hylian in any way? Skull Kid looks like he's made out of wood or straw. Spoiler: he actually has a wooden body. His head is hollow with light emanating from it, causing his eyes and mouth to glow. He's basically a Jack O' Lantern. Depending on my mood he either has an actual mouth or a beak or both at the same time. I DUNNO, I like them both. If you took off his hat, you'd see that he has no hair at all. Skull Kid is very weird.

Garrett Most of the time he just looks like a GIANT MONOLITH OF CAPE, because it makes it hard for people to remember him if he doesn't give them anything to remember. He is actually pretty tall, all things considered, which is a detriment considering he makes a living sneaking into places he's not supposed to be (he bangs his head on things a lot). When his fake eye catches the light, it glows in the dark like a cat's eye. That can be pretty weird.

Day Three: Name one scar your character has, and tell us where it came from. If they don’t have any, is there a reason?

Kumatora She climbed a lot of trees and lived in a castle ruin when she was a kid, so cuts and scrapes out the wazoo! Her most prominent one is on her ankle, from when she got her leg snapped in a bear trap.

Flint Flint has a whole bunch all up and down his arms since he works with his hands a lot, both when he lived in Tazmily and now that he repairs stuff at Smash. He got a pretty sizable one down his leg from the time he fell off a fence as a kid, and he probably got a few during the Aparoid War.

Flurrie SHE IS A CLOUD.

Skull Kid He doesn't get scars, he gets wood gouges! :D He has plenty of them all over from falling out of trees all the time.

Garrett UGH OKAY SO, in Thief 3 the devs retconned this HUGE, GNARLY SCAR on one side of his face, apparently from when he lost his eye, but it MAKES NO SENSE because it's clear in the cutscene that Viktoria doesn't tear his face up, and he very clearly does not have a scar at all in Thief 2. IT'S DUMB and for now I'm pretending it doesn't exist. wah wah >B(

Other than that, he has a keyhole-shaped scar burned into the back of his right hand, but he keeps it covered up all the time. His fingers are pretty calloused too thanks to archery and climbing stuff all the time.

Day Four: How vain is your character? Do they find themselves attractive?

Kumatora Kumatora thinks she looks just fine, dammit, and she doesn't need to spend forever in front of a mirror. Altough, if Violet and her once-a-year-dress-at-prom are any indication, she cleans up nicely.

Flint This stuff is for womenfolk. As Flint is a MANLY MAN who does MANLY WORK, he doesn't have time for that. However, he does like to keep his beard trimmed and takes a bit of pride in it, to make up for his lack of actual hair.

Flurrie YES. Flurrie considers herself a vision of beauty, and she wears tons of jewelry, make-up, and fancy clothes to accent her ~natural attractiveness~. She loves to make herself up, and she is ALWAYS ready for her close-up.

Skull Kid Come back when he's grasped the basics of personal hygiene and then we'll talk.

Garrett lol nope. Why worry about your appearance when you don't want anyone to see you in the first place? Plus, he travels through sewers and tombs, it's kind of a lost cause.

Day Five: What’s your character’s ranking on the Kinsey Scale?

Kumatora 2! She's currently Dustersexual, but for the most part, she really doesn't care what kind of plumbing someone has.

Flint 0, and even if he weren't completely straight he would be too repressed to act on it.

Flurrie 1. She was young and experimented a little, ok.

Skull Kid nope

Garrett 0. He's mostly uninterested in this sort of thing, but he does like the ladies.

Day Six: Describe your character’s happiest memory.

Kumatora I don't really think she has a specific one! She has lots of happy childhood memories and lots of happy high school memories.

Flint Either the day he got married, or the day the twins were born. Everything was pretty idyllic before forest fires happened (SOB), but those two stick out the most.

Flurrie The end of the Aparoid War, when Eggman confessed his love. d'awwwww.

Skull Kid Pretty much any time he had a friend. The time he spent with the giants, the day he met Tatl and Tael, and the aftermath of Majora's Mask when he and Link became friends. Anytime anyone draws with him is a good one too. oh god he's so lonely

Garrett hahaha happy things in the Thiefverse that's hilarious It was a pretty good day when he inadvertently erased the Keepers' powers. All of those stupid prophecies had been hanging over his head for years and now he didn't have to worry about it anymore! That was great.

Day Seven: Is there one event or happening your character would like to erase from their past? Why?

Kumatora If she could pick one, it would probably be learning THE AWFUL TRUTH. But at the same time, she would hesitate about it. Ignorance is bliss, but at what cost?

Flint THE FIRE THE FIRE THE FIRE THE FIRE

Yeah, even after everything Flint has been through since, he would still at least seriously consider taking the option to go back find a way to stop all the bad stuff that happened the night of the fire. Forget learning from your mistakes and overcoming tragedies, he wants his wife back. :c

Flurrie MAN. The Shadow Queen kinda scarred her for life, but there were so many good things that came from it that she could imagine having it any other way. You just have to take the good with the bad, you know?

Skull Kid Oh man what he WOULDN'T give to go back and not steal that dumb evil demon mask!!!

Garrett STEAL THE DEMONIC GEM FROM THE HAUNTED CATHEDRAL, THEY SAID.

IT'LL BE FUN, THEY SAID.

>:(

Day Eight: Day of Favorites! What’s your character’s favorite ice cream flavor? Color? Song? Flower?

Kumatora
Ice cream: Chocolate raspberry
Color: Indigo
Song: King P's Theme! As much as she hates King P, it's just so... catchy. And she is a shameless DCMC fangirl.
Flower: FLOWERS ARE FOR GIRLS

Flint
Ice cream: Boring ol' vanilla
Color: Yellow and red
Song: All the sappy country songs. All of them.
Flower: Sunflowers

Flurrie
Ice cream: Mint!
Color: Red
Song: She loves Motown songs so freaking much you guys.
Flower: The poofy white flowers from Boggly Woods

Skull Kid
Ice cream: CREAMSICLES because they're ORANGE
Color: ORANGE
Song: Fruit Salad (the melon is ORANGE)
Flower: Hibiscus but only if they're ORANGE

Garrett
Ice cream: dafuq is ice cream
Color: Gold
Song: Hahaha nope
Flower: do moss crystals count

Day Nine: Who does your character trust?

Kumatora It depends on what she's trusting you with! If you just approached her and asked to borrow five bucks and promised to pay her back tomorrow then YEAH OK THAT'S COOL she'll find you and beat you up if you don't anyway. When it comes to heavier stuff and secrets, however, she's less apt to open up. Asking for advice is saved for dadmoms and very close friends that she's known for years. The time she asked Manah for post-graduation what-should-I-do-with-my-life advice was pretty awkward because even though Manah is the guidance counselor she was someone Kuma didn't know and eeeugh sharing your feelings is already weird enough when it's not with a stranger. She DOES have a pretty sizable list of people she would spill her guts to, including Lash, the twins, and the Chosen Four. Pooosssibly Duster but FEELINGS complicate things.

Flint He's pretty trusting, having lived his life (as far as he knows) in a small village where everybody got along and there was no conflict and nothing bad ever happened. Not even the invasion of the Pig Masks and their chimera army could completely change that. He's not entirely naive, though. He's initially kind of nervous around of outsiders, i.e. non-Tazmily residents, though this was a lot worse when he first came to Smash, where he was surrounded by outsiders. Culture shock plays into it a lot: modern technology was essentially what caused the tragedy, and it's strange and alien to him in the first place, so he's suspicious of it and people who use it a lot. He has gotten a little better about this, especially since Smash has for better or worse become his home. And as a result, nearly everyone at Smash is under his trust umbrella for the simple fact that they're at Smash, even if he thinks most of them are crazy (FALCON).

Flint looks after his own. He gets pretty fiercely loyal towards the people he trusts and kinda feels like he needs to PROTECT THEM from all harm. Lord help you if you are not only A) a stranger but also B) on the bad side of somebody he trusts, because he will never like you. Ever. And he's willing to fight for what he wants to protect. I don't think he's ever been betrayed by anyone he's filed under "to be protected", but if that were to happen he would not take it well.

Flurrie LOOK AT WHO SHE'S ENGAGED TO. Flurrie is a terrible judge of character and way, way, way too trusting. It stems from her overly optimistic outlook on life. She wants to see the good in EVERYONE and finds it difficult-to-impossible to believe that anyone could be completely rotten to the core, including even Bowser (she still thinks he is an incredibly rude brute, though). Because of this she often puts the blinders on when faced with that possibility, or comes up with excuses to explain it away. Everyone deserves a second chance. And a third chance. And a fourth. Ad infinitum. It's why things like the Shadow Queen or the Aparoids frighten her so terribly: because there is no rational explanation that makes it better and they can't be talked down because they're misunderstood and they need a friend: they're just evil.

When it comes to gossip and secrets, Flurrie is probably not the person you should entrust your secret identity to. Flurrie gossips. She gossips a lot and she'll gossip to anyone who will listen. She has spent a considerable amount of her life in the spotlight and privacy is hard to come by when everybody wants your life story and will fill in the details themselves if you don't cough them up (fortunately she has no problem sharing). She's sort of forgotten that not everybody wants to be on display at all times like she does, and therefore things like secrets exist. If someone pleads with her enough to keep it on the down low, she will try not to blabber about it, but it might slip out eventually and most likely at the worst possible time.

Skull Kid Skull Kid has... issues with trust. Lots and lots of issues. He has no family, the first group of friends he ever had up and left him with no explanation, he got in trouble in school so often that he made himself a scapegoat for whenever something went wrong, and then he did a lot of other terrible things and doesn't even remember it all that clearly, though he does clearly remember being punished and studied and ultimately shipped off to a strange land as a result. Skull Kid has considerable problems getting close to anyone, since all of his life experiences have that ending in people abandoning him, punishing him, or betraying him.

He perpetuates it, too: he wants attention, but the only way he knows how to get it is by being a horrible little bratty monster, which gets him attention in the form of... being punished for being a horrible little bratty monster. It's frustrating and makes him act out even more, and the cycle continues. The only people in his life that he felt never gave up on him were Tatl, Tael and Link, but he's been cut off from the fairies (unless someone apps them hint hint) and Link arrived at Smash from a time before he ever went to Termina, which better than other scenarios but stiiiiill. Kid can't catch a break.

Garrett NO ONE HAHAHA. Well, okay, there are some people he trusts on a strictly professional level, such as his fences and the people he gets information from, mostly because they are in the same boat as far as being involved in less than legal activities and how screwed they would be if the iron fist of the law came down on them. EVEN SO, he is always prepared for the possibility that any of them could turn on him the instant it became convenient (because he would do the same thing, honestly), and he has never shed a tear over any of his associates biting the dust (HAPPENS A LOT), just aggravated "great now I have to find another one" grumbling.

As far as confiding in other people about more ~personal~ things? That just doesn't happen, period. If he does have FEELINGS about things, he doesn't even admit them to himself let alone anyone else. He's an antisocial jerk. :\

Day Ten: Can you define a turning point in your character’s life? Multiples are acceptable.

Kumatora She has a lot of these and they seem to get expotentially life-altering as they go. As such, the biggest one is currently what happened to her recently: she fell through time and lived her entire life as it took place in Mother 3. There aren't many things more defining than seeing the end of the world and living through it, after all. It was such a shock to her that she still hasn't quite figured out what to make of it: here she was, thinking she had just been sent to school as part of her princess training, and she was all set (though a little reluctantly) to someday ascend the throne as ruler of Osohe. And then this happens. Not only does she find out Osohe didn't exist, but then it all gets exploded in the end anyway. Currently she feels like she's lived two lives and she doesn't know which one is real, and everything is so COMPLICATED and she DOESN'T UNDERSTAND and she can't think of any way to deal with it beyond heading down to the stadium and beating the crap out of a sandbag for a while. Now she kinda has to own up to the fact that Smash and FDC in general is not the place it seems to be: sure, she always knew it was weird and there was all sorts of freaky magic going on, but this is the first time it's ever happened to her. THINGS WILL NEVER BE THE SAAAAAME.

Flint I bet you can't possibly imagine what I'm going to say here. c: Flint's life was perfect... UNTIL EVIL CAME. It ruined his life. Period. He missed out on a huge chunk of his sons' lives and still hasn't entirely repaired his relationship with them (and he thinks this is entirely to blame for Lucas' sexual orientation and now Claus' getting a girl pregnant out of wedlock, goddamn how did he screw this up SO BADLY), he became an outcast in his hometown, and he lost the woman he loved more than anything else in the world. He pretty much avoided contact with other human beings for several years. He is still psychologically damaged from it and could seriously use a good therapist or eight, but you would have to tie him down and force him to get help because he wouldn't seek it on his own.

Flint had always had a short fuse, but he had never done anything worse than stomping around, cursing and huffing before wearing himself out, and settling down and having kids had mellowed him out a bit. Not to mention, nothing in Tazmily was ever bad enough to really warrant getting all that angry about. But that night? That night broke him so badly that he turned violent for the first time. He was horrified at himself afterwards, but he was unable to stop himself. And as events at Smash proved, he still has a real possibility of reacting in such a way if something pushes him over the edge.

Flurrie Of course, when she decided to join Mario on his latest adventure. It was the first time she experienced real PAIN and FEAR and HARDSHIP although not as much as some other people in this survey (SEE ABOVE) it was still KIND OF A BIG DEAL for her. Now she was traversing dangerous places and fighting villains, and she was doing it for real and not just on a stage (well ok technically she was in battle but you know what I mean). Flurrie has led a pretty privileged life, so her first taste of heroics really showed her what it was like to do something for the good of someone else (in this case, the whole world) rather than just yourself. Needless to say, it felt great and she would jump at the chance to do it again. Being the diva that she is, though, she still kinda views it through a filter of "look at this heroic and selfless thing I did, admire me!" but hey, you gotta start somewhere. This was actually a big part of her motivation to come to Smash Academy: she could do a GOOD THING by TEACHING THE CHILDRENS. She saved the world before, how hard could teaching possibly be? (HAHAHAHA don't answer that)

Skull Kid The thing about Skull Kids is that they very rarely venture outside the forests they live in. They're actually pretty skittish and tend to shy away from people (though they like children). Our Skull Kid, however, took a big risk one day and left his forest. Not only that, but he decided that the world outside the Lost Woods was pretty OK! At least, it was at first, when he met the giants and got to hang out with them all over Termina. The giants leaving him was another big one, since it caused a lot of issues he still deals with today, including his desire to be loved and accepted by someone. Anyone. A lot of other important things have happened to him since then but they all sorta happened as a result. Majora was a pretty big one, though, what with nearly destroying Termina and it ending with him getting shipped off to Smash Academy. He STILL hasn't gotten over all of that.

Garrett If he hadn't been picked up by the Keepers he would proooobably be dead. YEAH. It also led to things like being INVOLVED in stuff all the time, like prophecies and world-saving and uggghhhh what does he have to do EVERYTHING around here god, but in the end he would prefer to be alive even if it means having to do stuff. Garrett has the amazing ability to shrug off a lot of terrible things, and a lot of terrible things happen to him over the course of the series that don't seem to phase him that much (either that or he's really good at being in denial). The end of Thief 3 was a big one, since he ended up with a big fat reminder burned right into his hand that THIS IS WHAT YOUR PURPOSE IN LIFE IS, whether he liked it or not, to the point where he seems to more or less accepted it if his remarks to the little kid are serious.

Day Eleven: Is there an animal you equate with your character?

Kumatora BEARSNTIGERS. Also sharks. And crocodiles. And mountain lions. Just about anything you'd see associated with being TOUGH or EXTREEEEME. Kuma really likes to give the impression that you shouldn't mess with her and the fact that her name literally means BEAR TIGER works in her favor. It's only after you get to know her that you find out she's not THAT abrasive. She once got turned into a pink, tiger-striped Teddiursa for Aminal Week mostly for the lulz.

Flint A slow, grazing animal like an ox or a buffalo (appropriately enough he got turned into a buffalo for Aminal Week). He's strong, reliable, he works hard, most of the time he's pretty calm, but he's stubborn and a little slow on the uptake. Before I settled on a buffalo for animels, though, I considered a dog since he is super-loyal, territorial, and protective of the people he cares about. He is basically Boney if Boney were a peoples.

Flurrie You know the poodle from Oliver and Company? THAT.

Skull Kid I tend to associate him more with plants than animals, but if I had to pick an animal it would be MONKEYS. The kid practically lives in trees. The way he walks is kinda similar to a monkey, too: hunched over with his arms hanging. The fact that he's humanoid but clearly not human. Hylian. Whatever.

Garrett It would be easy to go for the cliche things like cats (cat burglar hur hur) or birds (magpies) but honestly those seem too... idk poetic for him?? If anything I would go with a rat: a pest that gets into places it's not supposed to be and causes trouble and eats all the food and despite all that is just trying to survive. YUP. It helps that guards will sometimes dismiss any noises they hear as "just rats" if they aren't alerted further (and now you know where his username came from!)

Day Twelve: How is your character with technology? Super savvy, or way behind the times? Letters or email?

Kumatora Kuma COULD be pretty tech-savvy if she really put her mind to it (she even taught Duster some basic HTML way back when), but she doesn't really want to. She finds it pretty easy to do, but she just doesn't like sitting in front of a computer for hours on end. But while she's not all that big on computer stuff, she loves stuff like mechanics and car parts. She was thrilled when she heard about auto shop class (and less thrilled when she found out Eggman was teaching it). Computers are boring because it all just involves pushing a lot of buttons. Actual machinery meanwhile means working with your hands and getting dirty, and that's cool as hell! If someone showed her how to build a computer she would be all over it.

Flint HAHAHAHA. He doesn't get computers, or technology in general. He's never owned a Happy Box television and begrudgingly owns a (old and busted) clock radio. He doesn't know how to drive and he will never learn because omg giant metal murderboxes on the roads! If he absolutey must have something tech-related done, he would much rather get someone else to do it for him. He's figured out how to rudimentarily work a computer if only because it's necessary at Smash, but he is still the hunt-and-peck champion. It's amazing how he manages to keep the campus in working condition considering a lot of it is way out of his league tech-wise (I just handwave the fact that he somehow knows what electric wiring is) and shit's on fire all the time anyway. He steers clear of anything related to the computers or the network, though.

Flurrie She likes to think she is more tech-savvy than she really is, but in reality Flurrie is pretty old-fashioned and a lot of this stuff is just too new and alien to her. She does give it the old college try, and she LOVES that the network uses cameras so everyone can see her gorgeous visage whenever they want now! She doesn't take it very seriously at all: technology is more like a toy to play with than a serious tool for communication. She is that person who tries to find the 'any' key when prompted to press any key.

Skull Kid He actually has a few tricks up his sleeve, as he's managed to embed an auto-playing obnoxious song on the network before. Like Kumatora though, he doesn't really have the patience to do a lot on the computer, since he just can't sit still for very long. He has no sense of netiquette, either, going by his habit of TYPING IN ALL CAPS!!!! and using LOTS OF UNECESSARY PUNCTUATION?!?!? In chat rooms he makes sure his text is the most obnoxiously unreadable orange color he can find. He can't brain passwords, so any kind of hacking or private messaging is pretty much out of the question.

Garrett Technology is COMPLICATED to begin with in the Thiefverse: it's not unusual to see a torch and an electic light hanging on the exact same wall, running water is Schrodinger's plumbing paradox: it both exists and doesn't exist at the same time, there are ROBOTS and SECURITY CAMERAS but doctors still prescribe leeches for every and any ailment. IT'S WEIRD. I'd say Garrett's preeeetty smart when it comes to the tech level in the City, owing to the fact that he had to learn to work around it to do his job. He managed to operate all of the machines in Soulforge with little trouble. He hasn't been in Smash long enough to really figure out everything there, although some of it is familiar at least. He already knows he doesn't care at all for this INTERNET thing (way, way, way too easy to track someone) and won't be using it unless he absolutely has to.

Day Thirteen: What does your character’s bed look like when he/she wakes up? Are the covers off on one side of the bed, are they all curled around a pillow, sprawled everywhere? In what position might they sleep?

Kumatora LIKE A GODDAMN MESS. And it always looks that way because she never makes it up! Oh, sure, when she changes the sheets every six months or so she always tells herself she's gonna start making her bed every day, but that never lasts. And she's a rough sleeper. She gets hot easily, so it won't take long for her to throw off the covers and rearrange the pillows trying to find the one cold spot she hasn't slept on yet. All of the bedding is usually just in a pile on one side by morning. She tosses and turns a lot, so she's never really in one specific position. She likes to at least start on her back, but it's not uncommon for her to wake up on her stomach. Ever wonder why her hair always looks like it does? Now you know, and knowing is half the battle. GGGGG IIIIIII JOOOOOOE

Flint He sleeps like a rock and once he's out he doesn't move until the next morning. He can sleep anywhere, because once you've slept on a rock under a tree during a thunderstorm there's really not much challenge in a couch or a lumpy mattress. He lays on his side and faces wherever the most warmth is, having been trained by campfires for years. He doesn't really care for lots of blankets, so he usually turns down all of his bedding except for the sheet and only uses one pillow. If the bed is bigger than a twin bed (which I assume the teacher dorm beds are?) he will only sleep on one side. He makes the bed every day out of habit. The bed in his dorm at Smash is too soft for his tastes and he tends to wake up with a dull back ache most mornings. Usually, Boney sleeps at the foot of the bed, but every now and then Flint lets him up to sleep next to him.

Flurrie Flurrie has a king-sized canopy bed with over 9000 pillows and the softest silk sheets and down comforters. Sleeping on her bed is appropriately like sleeping on a cloud. Flurrie doesn't actually sleep laying down half the time due to all the pillows- she sort of lounges on her back instead, with her hands clasped over her abdomen. It's probably for the best since every night she does her hair up in curlers and applies copious amounts of beauty glop to her face before turning in. She takes her beauty sleep very seriously. Nothing is really out of place when she wakes up, but she does have a housekeeper named Consuela who comes in and makes the bed every day.

Oh. Also? She snores.

Skull Kid PILLOW FORT. Skull Kid likes to hide under all of his bedding and DISAPPEAR. He remembers those nights of sleeping outside in the rain and he'd rather not repeat that any time soon. He has no position he defaults to other than "what's most comfortable at the moment", and that can even include lying on his stomach with his feet sticking straight up. He rarely goes a night without having some kind of nightmare or at least very active REM sleep, so he's constantly tossing and turning and will eventually unearth himself from his inpenetable fortress. If he hasn't fallen out of bed by morning, it's probably because he's gotten himself completely tied up in his blankets. As for making the bed? He's a little boy, of course he doesn't.

Garrett He doesn't sleep in beds, he sleeps on top of them. He has to be ready to get up and move on a moment's notice, and blankets would only serve to slow him down. Beds are not for rest and relaxation, they are conveniently soft places to crash on after you've spent the last two days on the lam from the City Watch and/or wandering a chaotic other dimension. Garrett operates on much less sleep than should be healthy, so he doesn't really fall asleep so much as he passes out from exhaustion. He's also a very light sleeper, having trained himself to jolt awake at the slightest noise. When he does sleep it's usually on his side, but depending on how drunk/tired he is, he may just faceplant on the middle of the bed and not move no matter how uncomfortable it gets.

Day Fourteen: How does your character react to temperature changes such as extreme heat and cold?

Kumatora IT'S TOO HOT. IT'S TOO COLD. BITCH BITCH BITCH. If she's not making sure you know exactly what she thinks by proclaiming it loudly and repeatedly, she's stripping off her hoodie or putting the hood on and pulling the strings. The sleeves are all worn out because she has a habit of bunching her hands up inside of them when they get cold, and shoving them into her pockets for extra warmth.

Flint Flint has an extra layer of MANLY that protects him from the elements. Or something. IDK, he ran around a forest on fire in long sleeves and it didn't bother him all that much. Adrenaline might play a part in it, too.

Flurrie SHE IS A CLOUD. I think though that she is more partial to cold weather (what with cold air being part of how clouds form, also I imagine that Boggly Woods is kind of cool to temperate year round), but for the most part extreme temperatures don't bother her.

Skull Kid Kid can barely handle a cold rain, let alone extreme heat or cold. This stems from the fact that he's kind of plant-like, except that while most extreme temperatures can kill plants, they just make him doubly miserable. Expect lots and lots of whining. Actually, this isn't too far off from a real little kid. HMMM.

Garrett dude walks around in lava caves without batting an eye. So yeah.

Day Fifteen: Is your character an early morning bird or a night owl?

Kumatora GOD she hates getting up early. She hits the snooze on her alarm like fifteen times before finally rolling out of bed. It would help if she didn't stay up so late, but just like making the bed, she always tells herself she'll start going to bed earlier and never make good on that promise. Besides, most of her hours at the Birdcage are evening hours, anyway.

Flint is most definitely an early riser. It kinda comes with the territory of being a farmer. Even now that he's not anymore, he still gets up at the crack of dawn every day and gets right to work. Obviously he doesn't stay up late as a result, although occasionally you might catch him out at night, especially on faculty drinking nights.

Flurrie Nnnnneither? Like I mentioned before, Flurrie is VERY big on her beauty sleep, so it's always early to bed for her. Even so, she's extremely slow to wake up in the morning. She sleeps like a log.

Skull Kid Being a little kid, he is a chore to get out of bed every morning, and yet, he hates having to go to sleep (although he has a good reason). For the most part though, he usually can't stay up very late, he just conks out after a while even if he's trying not to. So, he's more of an early riser but only by a small margin.

Garrett ha HA. Of course it's much easier to skulk around in the dark when there's more of it to skulk around in, so he's active at night more often than not. However, he's pretty much got no sleep schedule to speak of, so he can turn right around and be diurnal at the drop of a hat.

Day Sixteen: Are there any blood relatives that your character is particularly close with, besides the immediate ones? Cousins, Uncles, Grandfathers, Aunts, et cetera. Are there any others that your character practically considers a blood relative?
