Okay, so here's how the weekend went!
FRIDAY:
-Got picked up by my friends and we got lost in downtown Richmond trying to find the convention center. XD I woke up feeling kind of sick so I didn't eat any breakfast, and I regretted it later when I got hungry.
-Hung out around the artist's alley and dealer room. I bought a lot of stuff of course. My best find was at a booth selling Japanese games- I found Mother and Mother 2!! I can't play them because I need a Japanese NES and SNES, but I still have them, beat up box and instructions and all!
-Took lots of pictures, and got hugged by a Link! :D
-Saw the AMV contest, which was good but not as good as last year's. :\
-Ate food! Finally!
SATURDAY:
-Bought more stuff and took more pictures!
-Bought plushes for my brother that he WILL be paying me back for since they were expensive.
-Drew stuff as an initiation into my friend's art club
-Went to a panel on making AMVs and got demos of Adobe programs that can make them. >:D
-Saw a mock rave in the artist's alley and got attacked by a ninja!
-Everyone decided I needed a kimono. O_o
SUNDAY
-Went to sign up for the SSBM tournament, but all the spots were filled and I had to sign up as an alternate. Didn't get to play. :\ But I got to watch! And it seems that everyone else agrees with me on the abuse of the boring characters like Marth just because they're ZOMG top tier. Everyone went nuts when two people actually played as Jigglypuff and Pikachu instead of Marth, Sheik or Fox/Falco..
-Lost my Franklin Badge. :( I still have the pin but the badge itself must've popped off somewhere. I got someone in the video game room to look for it for me and checked the lost and found but didn't find it. :(
-Helped pack up the booth my friend's mother ran. Didn't take very long because they had sold nearly everything. XD
-Ate Chinese!
And now I'm going to Nekocon in November! I'm going to help out at my friend's table in the artist's alley, so that means I have to draw tons of stuff (make money drawing cartoon characters? YAY!). The only prerequisite is that I have to dress up, so I decided that I'm going to cosplay Orihime from Bleach since she wears normal clothes and has long hair. Plus I got a Kon plushie and a pair of her hairclips from one of the booths in the dealer room (they're actually really nice- if they were a LITTLE smaller I could wear them for normal everyday stuff). Unfortunately I have to wear a semi-short skirt for it so I guess this is more incentive for me to lose more weight. I'll have to wear leggings at least since not only do I not do skirts, but it'll be freaking NOVEMBER.
