So last night I had a pretty big scare. I decided to fill out Drexel's application since I thought the deadline was Feb 1, and I thought I would be getting my other recommendation letter soon. Drexel, as I mentioned before, isn't a huge deal, because if I missed that deadline I'd just wait a few months to apply again.

But then I noticed that Drexel's deadline was March 1, not Feb. 1. But I *knew* I had one school that was Feb 1, so I dug around in my pile 'o grad stuff and found, much to my horror, that Feb 1 was the deadline for Maryland.

Maryland only has one deadline. Miss it and you have to wait until next year.

I had one letter for Maryland when I needed three.

Cue panic.

The next morning I'm talking to my mom and tell her Maryland might be a no-go because my recommendation people flaked out on me. I almost broke down crying, too, because *I* did everything I needed to do (my application, resume, essay, and transcript were lying in an envelope ready to be mailed) and gave them all THREE MONTHS notice and then it looked like I was going to get screwed because they were taking their sweet time. Of course, missing the deadline was the least of my worries- if dad found out, I would be dead.

Mom however advised me to talk to my boss and ask her to write me a letter. Fortunately, she wrote me one for Drexel, and all she had to do was change the school names on it and print it out again. So now I had two letters. While it was better than nothing, I still felt anxious about mailing in an incomplete application.

BUT, I got home from work and found, thank god, another envelope of letters in the mail. So my application is 100% ready to go.

Still, I've been waiting for these freaking letters since November. I realize the people I asked are busy and all, but jeez. I could've avoided at least one temper tantrum from my dad and sweating bullets all day today if they hadn't waited so long. Heck, I could have had ALL of my applications in by now and be done with this whole mess for a while. Argh.

On a lighter note, I nabbed Disgaea and Gitaroo Man at the Gamestop the other day. They were kinda pricey for used games, but holy crap they're Disgaea and Gitaroo Man so it's OK. :D I also picked up the third Incarnations of Immortality book by Piers Anthony, which is the next thing I'm tackling now that I've (finally) finished the Dark Tower.
