Final grades for my first grad classes: 101.5 and 88. I am S M R T!
So the othery day, my parents left to go out to dinner. Almost immediately after I posted my last entry, they pulled into the garage again. My dad comes up stairs and explains that they found a dog wandering out near the intersection to Staples Mill, which is a really extremely busy road, and she didn't have an ID tag on her. It was also thundering outside and she was spooked, so they brought her back here and called animal control. They had to leave, so they asked me to sit in the garage with her (they wanted to keep her seprate from Zam since he's a lunatic) until animal control came.
She was some kind of mix with longish fluffy hair that was black on her back and brown on her legs and belly. Her face was kinda gray, so she was old, too. She was SUCH a sweetheart- she never made a sound and liked to nuzzle. Though when she nuzzled my arm she left a smear of blood, and I found a nice little cut under her eye. I cleaned it up as best as she would let me, and then the police officer showed up. She was just as calm and sweet to him, and he exlained that she might have cut herself when she escaped. He also said that the rabies tag she was wearing had the name a vet on it, so they could probably locate the owners easily enough. It was such a relief for my mom, who would have never forgiven herself if she had left the dog out by the road.
And speaking of dogs, my mom just told me that she's seriously considering getting my dad a chow chow puppy for his next birthday. Before we had golden retrievers, my parents bred chows, and they had a black one named Buddha (because he looked like the laughing/fat buddha when he sat), so she wants to get another black one. I certainly wouldn't object to having another dog, though I have to wonder how Zam would adjust to having to share all the lavish attention he gets. :D
