And now, for the not-really-official AMA 2009 write-up!
-First thing in the morning I have my telephone interview. It went... ok. I got really nervous right at the end, though. The lady on the phone was really nice at least.
-Finally leave the house and pick up my friend, and then we're off to the con! The car ride there is uneventful, except for when I realized I forgot to pack the air mattress, whoops. When we got there, everyone else had already set up the Artist Alley table, so I just added my stuff to it.
-A FUNNY THING HAPPENED WHILE WE WERE CHILLIN AT THE TABLE. My friend was asking everybody about what kind of anime and games were popular so she could make a list of characters to draw/make stuff of to sell. She has a habit of making things cutesy when she draws them. Also, there was a girl with a headcrab plush on her head who was looking at stuff at our table. This is important to remember. ANYWAY, we were trying to come up with some popular video games she could draw characters of when a guy dressed like a Red Scout walked by.
ME: ...Say! Team Fortress 2 is pretty popular. It's totally not cutesy but it's pretty cartoony, so you could probably draw the characters pretty well.
GIRL WITH A HEADCRAB PLUSH ON HER HEAD: WHAT. You CAN'T make TF2 cutesy AT ALL.
ME: ...But I've seen cutesy TF2 fanart befo-
GIRL: And it's DISGUSTING! And as a TRUE Team Fortress 2 fan, I am OFFENDED! *stomps off*
ME: Bwuh?
At first I thought she was just kidding around, but then she really didn't come back. :U And now I kind of want to draw all of the TF2 characters frolicking in a flower field with rainbows and unicorns everywhere. :3
-Did the aforementioned geeking out about Brutal Legend. Mostly it was me lamenting that I can't afford a Xbox and the other girl going "BUT YOU'RE GONNA MISS OOOOUUUT D:"
-We sold. a ton of stuff. Ohman. I think we made more on Friday than we did at Nekocon last year. Nice.
-My friend bought a bunch of cheap DVDs from the dealer's room and we watched a few while eating ramen (breakfast of nerds!) before going to bed.
-Saturday I spent most of the day at the table because everyone else was doing various cosplay activities, and I didn't bring any costumes.
-Actually, that's a lie because I wore my Psychonauts shirt and pretended to be a Whispering Rock camper. :D
-Speaking of which, I caught sight of a Ness and Diddy Kong and went downstairs to take their picture, and when they saw my shirt they were like "AAA PSYCHONAUTS" and we had a nice fangirl moment. They said they had cosplayed Sasha and Milla at Nekocon, but I hadn't seen them. :<
-BULBORB PLUSH ACQUIRED. It has a kind of creepy huge pocket inside its mouth that is big enough for me to fit my entire hand inside. Like a handpuppet in reverse. It's much larger than the red Pikmin plushie I have, so I have a feeling it's for the purpose of reenacting horrible Pikmin deaths from the games. D:
-I drew so much stuff holy crap
-Artist Alley was overlooking the big open lobby of the convention center, and that's where lots of girls liked to gather to do the carmelldansen/Haruhi dance/Lucky Star dance/Dedede's big gay dance, so I heard all of those songs approximately five million times. :D
-We sold even more than we did on Friday what.
-When it was time to cram into the hotel room for the evening we had to exile the lone male member of the group while everybody peeled off costumes. He returned later with dozens of glow sticks from the rave, and a bunch of us proceeded to pile into the bathroom and have a bathroom rave because the mirror made it look bigger than it was. We were tired.
-Sunday the con itself was mostly uneventful. We didn't sell quite as much but that was probably because we had to pack up and leave at 4.
-Several birthdays were happening so we stopped at a sushi restaurant and had delicious sushi. Then we went to Coldstone and had delicious ice cream.
-Somewhere in between there, another member of our group was supposed to join us for foods, but her car broke down along the way, so the lone male drove off to rescue her and get a tow truck.
-We went to the beach. I managed to get lost driving along the way because I am an idiot.
-We sat around on the beach for a while and watched the sunset, and then we had to leave because it closed at sunset. :U
-After that we went to one of the birthday girls' apartment, opened some presents and finally went "oh whoops, some of us have to open in the morning" and we all piled into cars and drove back to Richmond.
-I drove the girl who's car broke down home, and along the way we talked about video games and stuff. She is entirely to blame for why I had to get Plants vs. Zombies today. stupid addictive fun game.

There were quite a few singing moebots and Team Fortress 2 cosplays running around. However, there were no singing Team Fortress 2 moebots as far I saw.

That cosplayer is a spy! >:[

I thought this guy was pretty cool, and then he pulled the toolbox out from behind a table and gained about 50 more awesome points.
There were a lot of Scouts running around, too, but they were in-character in that they were too fast for me to get my camera out and ask for a picture before they vanished. :<

HERE COMES DR. TRAN.

And just in case a Dr. Tran cosplayer wasn't enough...

DIDDY KONG.

There is ALWAYS a Ness.

There is more than one Flint cosplayer in the world! \o/

I had to take a picture of this guy's ginormous hat.

He was at the con because his bike was stolen.

Pokegirls!

Amano!Relm! There was a Celes too, but I couldn't catch her for a picture.

LOVE AND PEACE

Speed Racer chick!

At last, we know the conclusion to the epic chicken fight.

Keeping with my tradition of taking a picture of something when I have absolutely no idea what it actually is.

Arthur Dent! Or Arthur Dent's sister. Take your pick.
The beach was very pretty at sunset:
